The WInnF Coordinating Committee on International SCA Standards
Transceiver Work Group is pleased to announce our Transceiver Next Project Work Meeting

Meeting Host:

Gatineau, QC, Canada

The Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) will be hosted by NordiaSoft on Jul 14 – 16, 2015 from 08:30 to 17:30 hrs (working days) at the Business Center of Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel, situated in the city of Gatineau, Quebec (Ottawa twin city).

Meeting attendance is entirely free of charge, including lunches and coffee breaks. Lodging is not included.

The NordiaSoft Transceiver Next Project TEM continues a successful series of technical exchange meetings announced by the Transceiver Next WInnF work group as a part of the Transceiver v2.0 project.

This meeting follows the previous TEM at Thales during the last week of May. The meeting aims to support the progress of the Transceiver Next project (see the initial call for participation [Ref1]) to develop the next version of the WInnF Transceiver Facility Standard.

The TEM corresponds to the M4 and M5 milestones identified in the Transceiver Next Detailed Project Description [Ref4], and will address matters according to the meeting agenda that follows (see sidebar).

The WInnF Transceiver Facility [Ref2] provides implementation-independent standard APIs that enable a high degree of portability for SDR Applications (such as Waveforms), while enabling SDR Transceivers to host a large variety of SDR Applications.

Since its publication in 2009, the V1 specification has been used in many contexts, and a number of suggestions of improvement have already been reported. Besides, interest is growing for a number of additional features to be included in the standard. The WinnF Transceiver Facility is now managed as a WInnF SDR Standard, in accordance with CC SCA Policy 006 [Ref3]. Unlike previous version of the Transceiver Facility that was driven by requirements of Waveform Applications, the Transceiver Next Project will broaden applicability of the specification to other categories of SDR Applications such as Test and Measurement, Dynamic Spectrum Allocation, Electronic Warfare and Sensing.
